Get college credit for what you already know

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers students the opportunity to earn college credit by demonstrating personal knowledge of introductory-level college course content by taking CLEP Exams. Use your existing knowledge to progress more quickly through your degree program by earning CLEP credit.  

CLEP Exam details

  • There are 34 exams covering a variety of introductory-level college course content
  • Most CLEP Exams take approximately 90 to 120 minutes to complete 
  • Exam scores are received immediately after test completion (except for College Composition)
  • Testing is offered year-round at official CLEP testing centers

Take your CLEP Exam at 911³Ô¹Ï

CLEP Exams can be taken at the 911³Ô¹Ï Testing Center on the Utica Campus. The Testing Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tests are scheduled based on availability. To schedule your CLEP Exam, call the Testing Center 315-731-5802 or email Nicole Benton.

Please note: There is a non-refundable $35 proctoring fee for non-911³Ô¹Ï students (payable on the day of the exam via cash or card).

How to sign up for a CLEP Exam

  1. Go the to complete registration and pay.
  2. Print your Test Ticket and contact the 911³Ô¹Ï Testing Center to schedule your exam (call 315-731-5802 or email nbenton@mvcc.edu).
  3. Receive a confirmation email from the CLEP Test Administrator confirming the details of your appointment.
